According the the Oakland Post, the City of Oakland, is sponsoring a week long series of events "Celebrating 160 Years of Diversity."
It began with an art showcase in Frank Ogawa Plaza this past Friday and will end with a party--Birthday Cake included--on Friday, May 4th, 2012. People can also visit the City of Oakland's Facebook page to participate in "160 Ways I Love Oakland," poll at www.facebook.com/cityofoakland
