Did anyone out there know that May 4th is Oakland's birthday? Better question did anyone know that the city of Oakland kicked off it's birthday week commemorating the official incorporation of the city this past Friday?
According the the Oakland Post, the City of Oakland, is sponsoring a week long series of events "Celebrating 160 Years of Diversity."
It began with an art showcase in Frank Ogawa Plaza this past Friday and will end with a party--Birthday Cake included--on Friday, May 4th, 2012. People can also visit the City of Oakland's Facebook page to participate in "160 Ways I Love Oakland," poll at www.facebook.com/cityofoakland
