It is not the first time that I have written about
BlackBerry Soul Bakery & Cafe' and it probably won't be my last time either. The truth of the matter is I absoluetly love the place and once I met head chef and owner, Rene Johnson, and her family, I knew that it would be love. Well, the love came from the first bite of their blackberry cobbler. I stayed because...Well you get my drift. Simply put the food is HELLA G.U.U.D!

When Rene began offering cooking classes they sold like hot cakes, pardon the pun. They sold over 300 classes in 3
days, and have a 4-star rating on YELP with dozens of rave reviews for
its Southern style sweet and savory dishes made in-house. Rightfully called,
BlackBerry Soul Food Academy, the interest in the classes have became so popular that she had to dial back the days and hours of the restaurant to accommodate the more than 700 students who have booked classes. Rene is teaching students how to fry chicken, clean greens, and bake sweet potato pie. And she absolutely loves it! "If I had known how much I'd loved teaching, I probably would have never opened the restaurant first," she jokes. Expansion is necessary to
keep up with the demands of both the restaurant and the culinary school. They are trying to raise $10, 000 through the crowdfunding website, IndieGoGo.com
